Additionally, mixed-gas permeation testing exhibited surprising mixed-gas selectivity and moderate plasticization resistance again provided by the shape-persistent pentiptycene unit.

Further studies will continue to explore the polymer microstructure and unique aging results, as well b s psychology incorporate greater amounts of pentiptycene into the polymer backbone. Detailed synthetic procedures for making the S- and C-shaped pentiptycene-based monomers and polymers beginning from commercially available starting materials can be found in the SI Appendix.
